Description

These “four types of confidence” guide the warrior’s daily experience and ultimate realization. They also provide the foundation for all aspects of awake human society, from teaching our children, establishing household sanity and inspiring creativity, to a vision of compassionate power in government and business.

This weekend program is suitable for all new and senior practitioners, and will include talks by the director, meditation instructions, and open discussion.


About the Acharya

An early student of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, Acharya John is a long-time friend and teacher of the Milwaukee Shambhala Center.  He has taught Shambhala Buddhist programs in the US, Canada, Australia, Mexico and Chile for many years. He completed the first Three-Year Group Retreat at Gampo Abbey, and now teaches full-time. Richard and his wife Liz reside in Halifax, Canada.


NOTE: It is customary to make a financial offering tothe teacher. Acharyas receive no salary or benefits, and Acharya John relies entirely on teaching as a livelihood. The heart gift is voluntary and there is no suggested amount—it is a simple gesture of mutual appreciation.

Program Discounts

We offer program discounts to make most of our programs available to anyone who wants participate.  If the program price is an obstacle for you, please consider what you can afford, and offer as much of the program fee as you can. 

What is the Patron Price?

Those who are able to offer more than the regular program price can select the patron price option.  By selecting this option, your generosity is helping to cover the costs of those who may not be able to pay the full price of the program.
