The Milwaukee Shambhala Center is home to a diverse community with a genuine connection to contemplative practice, basic goodness and the aspiration to manifest enlightened society. Everyone is welcome to attend our celebrations, practice events, classes and gatherings.

Social Justice

The Milwaukee Shambhala Center opposes all forms of discrimination, injustice and oppression. We stand in solidarity with non-violent efforts to achieve racial, social and economic justice and with all those suffering and their desire for equality. We hold true to our core value that humanity is basically good and worthy of dignity.

Community Care

The Milwaukee Shambhala Center is part of a global community which aspires to awaken kindness and wisdom in society. This vision is rooted in the principle that human beings are by their nature worthy and fundamentally complete. This vision and aspiration includes acknowledging that pain, confusion and harm are also part of our experience. The Milwaukee Shambhala Community remains committed to teaching and practicing meditation, and to working together as a community towards collective liberation. We aspire to create a supportive and healing environment for those who come seeking to ease their suffering.

A number of Care and Conduct initiatives have been put in place by Shambhala International which affect all local centers, leaders and teachers and which you can read more about here.
