December 3rd (2017)

Date details +

The Refuge Vow is open to anyone who has the sincere aspiration to take the vow and has practiced meditation for a while. It is recommended that individuals discuss their intention with a meditation instructor and complete The Refuge Vow and the Three Jewels class. Individuals who cannot take the class should discuss alternate means of preparation with a meditation instructor. Please register for the class here.

To register for taking Refuge Vow, please register below. The registration deadline is October 21, 2017.

The Refuge Vow Source Book is a complementary guide to this class, with teachings from Chogyam Trungpa, Rinpoche, Sakyong Mipham, Rinpoche, Tsoknyi Rinpoche, Thrangu Rinpoche and others. It is a valuable resource for those preparing to take the vow and will be available for purchase at the class for $25, or you may borrow it from a friend. If you take the Refuge Vows, you will also need to purchase The Practice of Taking Refuge liturgy. The cost is $25 for the liturgy and shipping, and you will receive the liturgy at the Refuge Vow ceremony. (There is no cost for taking the Refuge Vow beyond the cost of the text... donations are always welcome.)

You will also need to have a brief interview with Acharya John before the day of the vow ceremony that you will be scheduled for according to your availability.
