    SHAMBHALA DAY IS:

    Traditional Shambhala Day practices and ceremonies: Tuesday, February 5; 8:00am-2:00pm.

    Social Gathering and Potluck Dinner: Saturday, February 9, 6:00pm -?? Bring a dish to share (something "al Italiano" perhaps? ) Beverages will be provided.

    Please join us as we celebrate Shambhala Day and begin the Year of the Earth Boar. All are warmly welcome. Shambhala Day marks the beginning of the New Year and represents one of the most important cultural traditions in Shambhala. The day is calculated astrologically according to the Tibetan lunar calendar and changes every year to coincide with the annual lunar cycle.

    Shambhala Day is a time for us to express the wealth and richness of our spiritual and cultural heritage through feasting, conviviality, elegance and pomp. Community lunches will follow the morning celebration.

     8:00 am Sunrise ceremony: 108 gongs and lhasang blessing

     9:00 am Elixir of Life Practice

    10:00 am Sadhana of Kindness, Sue Firer (Windhorse Retreat Center) retirement ceremony, community gathering, and brunch
