Ashe Mahamudra Vajrayana Retreat

Monday October 22, 8:30am to 5:00pm, Werma Feast 6:00 to 9:00

Pre-Requisites: This is restricted to Shambhala tantrikas, those who have attended Sacred World Assembly or Vajrayana Seminary. Anyone attending the day may also attend the Werma Feast. Shambhala tantrikas not attending the day may attend the feast if they have already received the Werma Sadhana.

This day of intensive practice is based on the Ashe Mahamudra, a powerful liturgy by Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche. It uses the wisdom of the Four Dignities in the context of Vajrayana, where they become the Four Gates of Self Liberation. Those practicing this for the first time must receive a lung on Monday morning, and attend the entire day. Those who have already practiced the Ashe Mahamudra should attend the entire day if possible, but they are also welcome to come for any part of it.

About the Acharya

An early student of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, Acharya John is a long-time friend and teacher of the Milwaukee Shambhala Center.  He has taught Shambhala Buddhist programs in the US, Canada, Australia, Mexico and Chile for many years. He completed the first Three-Year Group Retreat at Gampo Abbey, and now teaches full-time. Richard and his wife Liz reside in Halifax, Canada.

NOTE: It is customary to make a financial offering tothe teacher. Acharyas receive no salary or benefits, and Acharya John relies entirely on teaching as a livelihood. The heart gift is voluntary and there is no suggested amount—it is a simple gesture of mutual appreciation.
