“The Bodhisattva Vow is the commitment to put others before oneself.  It is a statement of willingness to give up one’s own well-being, even one’s own enlightenment, for the sake of others.  And a Bodhisattva is one who simply lives in the spirit of that vow, perfecting the qualities known as the six paramitas – generosity, discipline, patience, exertion, meditation and transcendental knowledge – in his/her effort to liberate beings.”  Chogyam Trungpa , Rinpoche

This class will explore the bodhicitta practices for arousing compassion and waking-up our hearts, the core disciplines of the Mahayana journey.

This class is open to everyone, but it is specifically recommended for those considering taking the Bodhisattva Vow with Acharya Richard John (the ceremony will be at 5:30pm on Sunday, December 3rd).  The Bodhisattva Vow is open to anyone who took the Refuge Vows at least 6 months ago and has a supportive recommendation from one’s meditation instructor. Having taken the Refuge Vows and entered into the path of the dharma, we can expand and deepen our commitment by taking the Bodhisattva Vow.  With the Bodhisattva Vow, we dedicate ourselves and all that we do for the benefit of all sentient beings
