Membership

Membership expresses appreciation for what the Shambhala Meditation Center of Milwaukee provides and helps make it available to others. It involves three main areas of engagement and support:

Meditation Practice – Developing a personal meditation practice and working to integrate this practice into daily life is considered the first way for members to support Shambhala.

Service – Volunteers do all of the work of our Center and much of the work of the Shambhala global community. Giving of one’s time, energy and talents enhances one’s sense of belonging and is considered is an important form of practice and support.

Financial support – Our center is a non-profit organization and is sustained 100% through recurring dues, donations and volunteer efforts. We rely on membership dues to pay our mortgage, utilities, insurance and other operating expenses. Financial contributions not only support our Center but also the worldwide community of Shambhala International.

Our members support the Center financially with a regular monthly contribution that best fits their personal financial situation. (Your regular contribution can be adjusted as your circumstances require. Every contribution is helpful and greatly appreciated. All donations are tax deductible.)

If you have questions about Shambhala Center membership, please contact membership coordinator Toby Simpkins. If you’re ready to join, complete the Membership Form.
